History of the 41st Street Plaza
The 41st Street Plaza is an exciting, family-oriented recreation destination with multiple interactive water features, a playground, picnic areas, a covered pavilion, restrooms, and a river overlook. The $2.8 million Plaza was privately-funded, with Tulsa-based QuikTrip Corporation as the lead donor in celebration of the company’s 50th anniversary and in honor of its 10,000 employees and their families.
Two of the most popular features of the 41st Street Plaza are the water fountains and splashpads. These water features are a delight to children of all ages during the summer months. Generally, the water features are turned on between May 1 and October 1, from 9AM to 9PM. The fountains are generally shut down for a short period of time on Mondays for water treatment. A large playground is also located at the area. The 41st Street Plaza is also home to a number of events throughout the year. One of the most popular events is River Lights, the River Parks holiday lighting ceremony. Parking and restroom facilities are available year-round.
