River Parks’ vision is to be the region’s premier park, recreation and entertainment destination.  Events of various kinds are held throughout the park in every season. Many events are free and some require paid admission.  Most Crowds gather at the River Parks outdoor amphitheatermajor events, such as festivals, occur at the River West Festival Park, 2100 South Jackson. Events that are produced by River Parks Authority are privately funded through the sponsorships of Tulsa businesses and organizations, aided by numerous dedicated volunteers.

Running, walking and cycling events occur throughout River Parks, as well as on Riverside Drive, year-round. There are opportunities to compete at many different age, distance, and fitness levels. Training activities are offered by some of the sponsoring organizations. Most competitive events have an entry fee.

The River West Festival Park is home to the Reynolds Floating Stage and Amphitheater with its beautiful views of the downtown Tulsa skyline. Ticketed concerts are held at this venue, as well as major fall festivals including the OKScotfest and Tulsa’s nationally-known Oktoberfest.

ONEOK FreedomFest, featuring July 4th fireworks and family fun, is a Tulsa tradition dating back to the nation’s bicentennial in 1976. Young and old line both banks of the Arkansas River with lawn chairs and picnic baskets to celebrate Independence Day. Live music, play inflatables for the kids, and concessions are all a part of this event. At nightfall, hundreds of aerial shells are launched from the 21st Street Bridge, thundering over the river with a choreographed soundtrack broadcast by a local radio station.

Tulsa Oktoberfest features amusement park rides and moreTwo of Tulsa’s oldest festivals draw tens of thousands to the river every fall, offering food, dancing, music, arts and crafts, and much more. OKScotFest occurs in mid-September and includes amazing feats of strength and skill as men in kilts master the caber, stone and hammer throws. The venerable Oktoberfest gives young and old the annual chance to Chicken Dance! The festival features an array of authentic German and European foods and beverages, dancing to the sounds of “oompah” bands, a Root Bier Garten for the kids, German collectibles, and tents filled with arts and crafts.
